                                     Lake Wedowee Air Junkeys (LWAJ)
We are devoted to water fun on Lake Wedowee, AL.
                                                                               (some might say obsessed)

                                                                                            including;

  • Ski Fun Days; anyone can play; we even host separate days for our Wee Wedowee Air Junkeys !
  • The annual Paddlin' 4 Paws Cardboard Boat Regatta Races for our Randolph County Animal Shelter and
  • When the water chills in December we quit playing and get serious; we lay hundreds of Christmas wreaths of remembrance for our military as our part in the Wreaths Across America celebration.

You can earn a waterproof club decal at the next Ski Fun Day.

We had an informal ski meet in 2007, and the Lake Wedowee Air Junkeys were born.
Since then we've grown into a group of friends who have hosted two USAW Grass Roots Ski Tournaments
and three Cardboard Boat Regatta Races.  So join in the fun and let's get wet and wild !

Here's where to find us by water....no roads to where we are.
We stay in the main river unless it's too cut up.  Then we go into the coves below.

Skiers:  There is a slalom course: when u pass #28 on the map and are bearing to
the right toward the osprey nest, stay on the leftish  side of the waterway until
you pass the osprey nest on your left.  Go about 10' past the nest, then left...
                                     there is a s
lot through the underwater trees.  Watch your prop !!  Many trees back
here, say others who have used the area.

Wakeboarders, kiters, hydrofoilers: riders play between the two GPS areas on the
main river, below 48 bridge....when it gets too rough we move to the wakeboard

cove marked on the map.

Go fly a kite....with a water toy; ski, kneeboard or a wakeboard

fly-in on Lake Wedowee; most likely June 22-24, 2012.
They always stay at Chimney Cove and do a show at Wedowee Marine.
