22 dogs and cats found loving new homes during our Dec. 13-24, 2011 Santa Paws event:




We rescued 4 starving pups.  Randolph Leader story 9/21/11

We rescued an iguana.

We also assisted the rescue of over 80 dogs and cats from a loving owner who can no longer care for them.
All are neutered.  Many groups and individuals were involved.  Click here for the 8/31/11 follow up story.  We are very proud of how our community showed 'heart' and pulled together to rescue our furry friends.
 
                                          
Top News:
1.   The next Paddlin' 4 Paws Cardboard Boat Regatta Race is May 12, 2012 (Rain date 6/2/12)
2.   Three free cardboard boat building 'learner' clinics were held; 2/11/12 in Roanoke , 2/13/12 in Lineville ,
      and 2/14 in Wedowee.  There are no more classes scheduled.
3.   Our 3rd Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta Races were held on 5/14/11 and they were a huge success.
      We raised over $12,300, after expenses !! Part of our profits paid for the new outdoor "Puppy Palace".
      Every day our pups get out to romp in the roofed area!
4.   RCAS Book Sale dates are April 14 & 21, 2012:  9am - 1pm in Roanoke. Details: Calendar
5.   The RCAS LadyBug kayak took 3 gold medals at the Pell City Cardboard Boat Races 8/27/11.

We hope you will visit your clean and friendly Shelter, which boasts the highest Shelter adoption rate in Alabama.  Our staff is very pleasant to work with.  We'll give you a tour.  We do speaking events for your club or school too.  Your continuing support of our events, as well as your volunteer time and donations of money and supplies has allowed us to enter our 5th year of serving our community as of November 2011.  Thank YOU !! 
                 We appreciate your adopting our animals and sending your friends to us for their needs.

PS:  We are always in need of supplies:  right now we really need used towels/blankets/comforters/t-shirts;
       anything useable for bedding.  Canned food (we have plenty of kibble), treats, toys, laundry soap,
       paper towels, office supplies, etc.  We offer 501(c)3 donation receipts.
